Dr. Jennifer Jester
Dr. Jennifer Jester is a musician, entrepreneur and educator. She is owner/General Manager of School of Rock Springfield, MO since 2013. Prior to owning her own businesses, she was Assistant Professor for four years at Millersville University, and served as both the head of the Music Business and Technology Program, and co-facilitator of the Center for Entrepreneurial Education on the Millersville University campus. Dr. Jester’s professional business experiences include working as Executive Director of the International Tuba-Euphonium Association and the Tuba Euphonium Press, Managing Director of Community Concerts at Second, and Managing Administrator for the Washington Symphonic Brass. Dr. Jester holds a DMA in Euphonium performance with a research emphasis in interdisciplinary education, performance, and entrepreneurship. She earned a MFA from the California Institute of the Arts, a B.S. in Music Performance from Arizona State University, and completed the Music Business Certificate Program at the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, CA. In 2013 Jennifer was in the Springfield Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 class.
In addition to her involvement at School of Rock, Jennifer is currently adjunct professor at Missouri State University, plays in a blues duo with King Clarentz called Jester & King, and serves as President of the Springfield Regional Arts Council board, and is on the board of Music Mondays of the Ozarks, and the Vice President of the Rock School Franchise Association. As a professional musician Dr. Jester has traveled around the United States performing with the River City Brass Band, various solo performances, and to China with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra. Past projects have included compositions for euphonium, trombone, bass trumpet, and includes her one woman show called “The Last Tango.” In addition to performance Jennifer is working to complete a music therapy credential at Drury University.
